Motorcycle Training Academy is Colorado's top choice for motorcycle, scooter and 3-wheel education. Whether you have never touched a motorcycle, or you have been riding for years with or without your endorsement, this is the school for you!

We are a small, veteran-owned business, locally owned and operated in Colorado. The majority of our RiderCoaches are either active duty or retired military specializing in teaching the public how to ride a motorcycle safely and still have fun. We offer street classes for ages 15 and up. We are approved by the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

You will learn to ride using our motorcycles on a safe closed circuit course. Our motorcycles and scooters are small and lightweight, so you can concentrate on learning the skills of safe riding and then transfer those skills to your own bike.

The MTA staff is always available to come and speak to your riding group or club. We can provide discussions about overall motorcycle safety or group or individual riding techniques. This is a free service to enhance overall safety and motorcycle awareness. We would love to come meet our brothers and sisters of the highway. 3-Wheel Basic RiderCourse

Basic, entry-level, learn-to-ride 3-Wheel Motorcycle (3WMC) training and education course. It provides the same fundamental skills as the BRC, but on 3-wheel, 3-track motorcycles (not sidecars). Only 3WMC's are allowed in a 3WBRC, and the student are highly encouraged to supply their own 3WMC (we may be able to supply a limited number of 3WMCs)...

MSF has very specific definitions of what a 3WMC can and cannot be. Successful completion of the 3WBRC class waives the need to take the Colorado DMV written examination and road test.
The Advanced Rider Course

is designed for experienced riders of all types of 2-wheel bikes, including scooters. The ARC uses techniques developed by sportbike riders both on and off the track. You will learn High-speed maneuvering, Quick swerving / Avoidance techniques, Counter steering, Traction control, Emergency braking for curves and slippery surfaces...

is designed for experienced riders of all types of 2-wheel bikes, including scooters. The ARC uses techniques developed by sportbike riders both on and off the track. You will learn High-speed maneuvering, Quick swerving / Avoidance techniques, Counter steering, Traction control, Emergency braking for curves and slippery surfaces. Learn how to stop dragging expensive parts in turns! The one day course is spent hands-on. Riders must use their own 2-wheel motorcycles.You must already have a valid motorcycle license and your bike must be licensed, insured (with proof of insurance) and street worthy. The ARC is the public version of the Military SportBike RiderCourse (MSRC), and may be taken by riders using any type of 2-wheel motorcycle. Because of the high level of traction required, riding activities will NOT be conducted if the riding surface is wet.
Basic Skill Practise Riders Course

The course is an approximately five-hour riding course designed to help you develop basic riding skills. Exercises focus on a variety of cornering skills and limited-space maneuvers. By the end of the course, you should be able to handle a motorcycle well enough to negotiate normal street and traffic situations...

The course is an approximately five-hour riding course designed to help you develop basic riding skills. Exercises focus on a variety of cornering skills and limited-space maneuvers. By the end of the course, you should be able to handle a motorcycle well enough to negotiate normal street and traffic situations. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for your use. You must have a valid motorcycle permit or license endorsement. If you want to use your own larger bike, see the Police Style RiderCourse. There is no written or riding test. Ideally this course is conducted soon after completing the BRC. A valid motorcycle permit or endorsement is required. To participate you should have successfully completed the Basic RiderCourse (BRC) or equivalent, or have sufficient riding skills and experiences to operate a motorcycle with basic proficiency. This course is a great transition for graduates of the Basic RiderCourse to continue skill development.

5 hours classroom hours and 10 hours riding a motorcycle spread out over 2 consecutive days. There is also now an eCourse component that must be completed prior to class. The eCourse can be done in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. There is no additional charge for the eCourse. The eCourse will prepare you for your first riding experience and covers topics like basic operation, preparing to ride and some more advanced topics like risk and riding, and basic street strategies...

5 hours classroom hours and 10 hours riding a motorcycle spread out over 2 consecutive days. There is also now an eCourse component that must be completed prior to class. The eCourse can be done in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. There is no additional charge for the eCourse. The eCourse will prepare you for your first riding experience and covers topics like basic operation, preparing to ride and some more advanced topics like risk and riding, and basic street strategies. Prior to your first riding session you must present a copy of your eCourse Completion Certificate to your Instructor/RiderCoach. A motorcycle and helmet are provided. Colorado will waive both the written and riding tests for your M endorsement. Graduates may qualify for insurance premium discounts with some motorcycle insurers.Completion of the Basic RiderCourse satisfies the requirements of the Department of Defense regulations regarding motorcycle training for active duty military members and civilians operating a motorcycle on and off military installations.
