New York State requires all permit holders to pass an in class pre-licensing course (known as the 5 hour class) prior to scheduling a road test appointment. We offer the New York State pre-licensing course 2 times a week on Sunday mornings at 9am and Thursday evenings at 5pm. The course is taught in our air conditioned/heated comfortable classroom located in our offices at 1 S Madison Ave. Throughout the 5 hour class our instructors will review with the class the DMV regulations in the permit book in addition to discussing some new laws of the road, answering some questions and going over some key dangers while driving such as aggressive driving, cell phone use, driving under the influence and road rage.Please make sure to bring your permit with you. Upon completion of the course you will be issued an official pre-licensing course certificate. If you would like to schedule an appointment for the road test after the class talk to your instructor.

The defensive driving course is a New York State approved point/insurance reduction course. The defensive driving course will help refresh the student’s driving knowledge by reviewing time-tested safe driving tips and an overview of today’s vehicle and traffic law. Students that take this course can get a point reduction of up to 4 points and get an insurance savings of 10% over the following 2 years. Each course is at least 6 hours long and presented in one or more classroom sessions.
