New drivers seeking to obtain a Maryland Drivers License must complete a approved Driver's Education Course consisting of a minimum of thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction (Part 1) and six (6) hours behind the wheel training (Part II). The 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training can be scheduled in any combination of 1 hour or 2 hours however cannot exceed 2 hours in a single day. ​

Planning practice driving for your new driver can be challenging. He or she needs to develop critical driving skills and practice them in a variety of driving environments and conditions. The driver education program is not going to cover the wide range of environments and challenges your new driver will face during the intermediate period of licensure. It’s up to the mentor/driving coach/parent/spouse etc. to work with the new driver to provide plenty of quality practice. We can assist you in gaining this valuable driving experience safely and thoroughly with our mentoring program.
