Interstate Truck Driving School ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ NEW Well this might be lengthy, I will start with the good stuff, the instructors all are well intentioned and genuinely care about you as a student passing the exam at the end. Juan and Bret are by far my favorite instructors as they give the real world experience. So yes I passed the class and the test. This concludes the good stuff . So let’s dive into the areas that could use a bit more refinement. From the beginning I was having difficulty getting a response from Chris as to what I needed being out of state for documentation. It seemed as though he didn’t believe I was registering until payment cleared. Speaking of payment, 4300 is advertised but 4500 is collected if you use credit card... Read More

A simple search on indeed you will see this same course offered at 3100.00 which is confusing. Moving on to the class work, 4 instructors 18 students, seems balanced at the beginning. This would change rather quickly, twice a day the objectives would be re arranged at the beginning of the day and again after lunch. This leads to confusion and disorganization. One student in my class went 2 weeks and three days without having any road driving time. Switching up groups and instructors throughout the day caused him and others to be shuffled around and not balanced. No course outline, daily agenda or sense of structure was felt. Beyond the disorganization of daily activities, it was very apparent that Juan and Kenny are trying to get the school accreditation. When going thru the module learning tests, we would grade our own work, and when students scored below 80% they were told to “correct their answers “ seems a bit unfair to those who studied. I’m not saying they didn’t do a fabulous job in teaching driving skills , backing and pretrip, because the did and do. It just would have been a better experience if the activities and objectives were clear and consistent. When explaining the pre trip process and hazmat rail crossing, all 4 had a different approach and content to convey. Moving on to exam , I had Ray, the brother of the guy in all the videos we watched in class. From the beginning of my exam he would badger and make snarky comments about the way the school prepares us to pretrip. Interrupted multiple times and telling me not to use the “script” yes the same script the school preaches for 3 weeks. I got in my head from all this and subsequently failed . Came back two days to train at instructors request and was told to go home the first day as they had a new class going on. (104 miles round trip ) Re test was with Gary , passed with ease 3 days later. Gary is amazing!!! Very confident Chris , Bret and Gary were all informed of how things went with Ray. Don’t know if any action was taken but the exam and the school have different expectations. I hope my review helps reshape their school and make your experience better than mine. I moved across country to come here, spent a significant amount of money and time , out of work for 1.5 months to acquire my cdl class a .
