Teen Driver's Ed Curriculum
Our state-approved driver's education course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction, a minimum of 6 hours of in-car driving instruction, 6 hours of observation, and passing the written test.

Classroom Instruction
The classroom instruction is designed to prepare students to understand and obey the rules of the road, safe driving practices, pedestrian safety, driver responsibility, theory of driving, defensive driving techniques, behavioral characteristics of drivers, auto insurance and financial responsibility, development of perception for driving, emergency situation procedures, and the use of automobile safety devices.
Behind the Wheel Instruction
The Secretary of State requires a minimum of four hours of classroom instruction and a valid Illinois Instruction Permit issued by Secretary of State before in-car lessons are started.
