Your teen may take the 30 hour class at 14 years and 6 month old. Class certificate is good for 180 days. So you must get your permit within that time. If (when) student is 15 years of age or older, the State written test is included with class. When student reached 14.11 months the they can take the State written test. Your teen can not get their permit until they at 15 years old. The learners permit must be held for one year. During this year, a log of driving hours must be logged. 40 daytime and 50 night time hours. These hours must be completed with a Colorado licensed driver 21 years of age or older and they must be a signer on the Affidavit of liability waiver (DMV form). You must also complete 6 hours of in car (Behind the wheel) instruction with a certified driving school. BTW instruction is discounted if you take our 30 hr class. If you miss a class you can make the same day up at any location!!! ALL CLASSES REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF EIGHT STUDENTS.​

If you are 15.6 years of age or older (must be at least 15.6 on day of class), you are required to take at minimum a 4 hour Driver awareness classroom course. You can still take a 30 hour course if you want the added knowledge that a full four day course has to offer. The four hour course is a compressed version of the 30 hour program. The State written test will be given at the end of the class. Two attempts are included with the class. ​If you miss a class you can make the same day up at any location!!! ALL CLASSES REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF EIGHT STUDENTS.​ This class is also the equivalent to Alive at 25 and is accepted by our local courts for a court ordered Driver awareness course.

Colorado requires this instruction for any teen driver under 16 years 6 months taking the Road Test and applying for a GDL Driver's License. The 6 Hour Behind The Wheel program however is a great learning experience for any new driver. In & Out Driving School has set up a very comprehensive driving course for new drivers. This program is usually divided into two 3 hour sessions, but can be three 2 hour sessions if needed. Hourly rates available.

Our online course is Colorado based and approved by the Colorado Dept. of Revenue. Convenient and online, the class will satisfy state requirements for the 30 hour driver’s education class. We also offer discounts on behind the wheel instruction and the final road test if you use our online course. Once your student has completed the 30 hour online class, you will receive a notice of completion email and link for completion certificate. Students must be 14 years and 6 months or older at completion time. We will provide the state certificate of completion, and once the student is 14 and 11 months or older, they may take the written permit test in our office (two attempts).
