This course is required for anyone 18 years of age or older who is interested in obtaining a driver’s license for the first time. It includes 6-hours of classroom instruction and 8-hours of behind-the-wheel training. The classroom instruction is held on Monday’s, Thursday’s and Saturday’s from 10am to 4 30pm at 2522 Tulane Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119. The behind-the-wheel training can be scheduled any day during the week except on Sunday’s from the hours of 8am to 8pm. An individual that is 60 years of age and older must get a physical and vision test completed before being approved to take the 8 hours of driving time of the 14 hour course. The forms can be obtained from our office or downloaded from the OMV’s website.

This course is required for any 15, 16 or 17 year old student that is interested in obtaining their learner’s permit. This class consists of 30 hours in class and 8 hours of behind the wheel training. The 30 hours in class is completed in four days, from 9am to 5pm each day. The behind the wheel training is split into 4 days, 2 hours each day. Contact the office or check our website home page for the class schedule.Students taking this course must also have proof that they are enrolled in school, have graduated High Shchool OR Home Schooled or enrolled in a GED Program. The parent that signs for this child must be the parent on the birth certificate or if custody was awarded, the court document proving that legal guardianship.* In addition, the student must be in the eighth grade and at least 14 years of age and within 90 days of making their fifteenth (15th) birthday to take this course.
